New for version 2.0
-------------------
See HELP for !-NEW-! for complete version history
Registered users receive a '286 and a '386 optimized version of TOP
in addition to the regular version!
Multiple FILES windows. FILES windows are movable, sizable displays
of file listings and related information. Now you can have up to
three seperate FILES windows open at once, simultaneously looking
at the contents of separate drives and directories! Using TOP's
unique "drag and drop" mouse interface, you can move or copy files
from any FILES window to another.
FILES windows also support "tagging," the ability to group
otherwise unrelated files together for subsequent copy, move or
delete operations. You can even "lasso" files by just sliding the
mouse across them!
Multiple FILES windows are your complete file management solution!
Menu Buttons, a quick way to access any TOP or DOS commands at the
click of the mouse! Functions of any complexity can be assigned.
But wait--there's more: Using TOP's unique "drag and drop" mouse
interface, you don't just get to push buttons, you can actually
drop parameters onto buttons.
For example, imagine a button called "EDIT" which starts your
editor. If you drag and drop a file name to the button, your
editor starts with that file!
Complete DOS 6.2 functionality and \bHELP\p
ANSIECHO, an enhanced ECHO command which can use ANSI and PROMPT
strings
TAB search now include directories.
The CONSOLE window is now included in the shareware version. The
CONSOLE window captures all text written to the screen and
displays it in a movable, sizable TOP window! With the CONSOLE
window users can scroll back and see text that went off the top of
the screen! See HELP for wCONSOLE
Vendor Distribution
-------------------
Vendors may distribute TOP without prior consent from TNC Technology
provided the following guidelines are met:
1. Converting from/to BBS distribution to/from disk copy
distribution
TOP is distributed in two forms: a BBS ready file, called
TOP210.ZIP, and an installation ready disk. TOP210.ZIP is simply
the entire contents of the installation ready disk zip compressed
into one file.
The installation ready disk >must< contain five files:
INSTALL.EXE The TOP installation program
READ.ME Information about installation
VENDOR.DOC This file
FILE_ID.DIZ BBS posting information file
TOP.DAT All TOP files in compressed format
To convert the installation ready disk to a BBS ready file, zip
the contents of the disk to a file named TOP210.ZIP
To convert the BBS file into an installation ready disk, unzip
TOP210.ZIP to a floppy.
2. Adding Vendor files
Vendors may add any of their own files as they see fit, but
please follow the following guidelines:
To add files to the installation ready disk, copy them to the
disk.
To add files to the BBS ready file, unzip the file, add files,
and rezip the file.
In either case DO NOT uncompress TOP.DAT. DO NOT install TOP and
then compress the resulting files. This will cause subsequent
installations to fail as INSTALL creates (or does not create)
some files based on user preference, and customizes the
installation for user convenience.
3. TNC Technology requests that at least one copy of the
distribution media be sent to us so we can congratulate ourselves
and generally make merry. Please send us your catalog, flyer,
rack package etc. for our collection, and in turn we will try to
keep you updated with our latest innovative creations!
4. Vendors must demonstrate good faith in promoting the Shareware
concept, and encourage registration where possible. TNC
Technology reserves the right to refuse distribution privileges
to anyone who, in TNC Technology's opinion, does not uphold the
Shareware principle.
